The smart thing to do for each person who receives the $4 offer is to log in to their CVS account and see what other offers will stack. It’s on a case by case basis (I’ve got $3 off CVS brand suncare, Coppertone, Banana Boat and others). Then, you check Ibotta for their related offers and cashback. You get the most value when you take a little time to do the digging.

If interested I’d suggest exploring a larger CVS store with more inventory than one of the older hole in the walls with less freezer space. Also applies when searching Walgreens in this category, some have a much larger food assortment than others.

I am very fortunate that my nearest CVS is probably less than a quarter mile from the 805 freeway with heavy foot traffic and so a lot folks (including me) stop by that CVS to pick up stuff for breakfast, lunch or dinner on their way home from work, if you do not feel like going to the grocery store. I should be able to find the Beyond Meat at that particular store (fingers crossed).

I took the time to price sunscreen both ways (using the Coppertone example above vs buying CVS brand). Honestly, it’s not a huge difference. The upside to buying the Coppertone is if you trust national brands over store brands. But the downside is that you’re “stuck” with $3 in ExtraCare rewards (not an issue with most of us, but you’re payin that $3 up front in getting it back). If you choose CVS brand instead it’ll will cost you a little over a dollar out of pocket but no rewards back. That’s probably the choice I’ll make. And, just keeping it real, either choice is NOT the best one for sunscreen. That honor goes to Walmart Equate in the can which surprised everyone by being the second highest rated sunscreen in terms of effectiveness. It beat out almost all of the others. We’ve been buying the 2-pack for years.

A lot of store brand items are very good.
