$.51 in ING interest…

It’s the 10th day of the month and I have earned $.51 my ING savings account.

I moved an extra $500 from my overtime pay into my ING account. So, my interest will really grow! YAY. I love seeing my money grow. I love the feeling of having money in the bank.

For years, I was living paycheck-to-paycheck as a single mom. I used credit cards as my cushion. I think what really put me back on the road to recovery was building up that $1000 Emergency Fund.

I was reading a financial blog recently, Free Money Finance, and the guy was saying that we should be living at around 70% of our pay – 10% savings, 10% giving, 10% retirement. I do see how important it is live below your means b/c we waste money. Do we really need cable TV with 700 channels?

Anyways, I have earned $.51 in interest and I am building up the Benjamins!

i always think of my Dad when i say "i waste so much money" he would always tell us "do not waste money SPEND it!" lol and its true. If we only use the money for the things we need; we wont be WASTING it 😛
