1Albertsons Grocery Store lost millions of dollars last year and it was recently sold to Cerberus Capital Management.  According to the article, Changes Coming to Albertsons, Acme, Jewel, Shaw’s and Star Market, each store location will have its own Coupon Policy. So, pretty much as a Couponer, you will not be able to predict if you will be able to use a coupon at Albertsons since individual stores, managers, and cashiers can make up an invisible rule since there will no longer be a Corporate Coupon Policy.

Strange, I’ll have to check the store policy when they do make changes. I have experienced this with Rite Aid, each store having their own policy for what they can and cannot accept.

My two closest Rite Aid and pretty much all the Rite Aids that are within I’d say 15 minutes of downtown San Diego have a consistent policy about coupons…at least that has been my experience. They all let you use multiple in-ad coupons, two coupons on BOGO sales, etc. Believe me, in the past it has not always been true. I’m not sure that my complaints changed things or they just got use to seeing me each and every week. 🙂

I have found that even when stores have corporate coupon policies that individual stores/managers/cashiers make up their own rules.
