All Points Are Not Made The Same

Yesterday, I posted about how I Get Excited Over a Small Savings because I had used the only points I had in MyPoints account to get a $3 Amazon code for Amazon’s Prime Day.  I also said in that post that I’d getting more Amazon gift cards for Christmas.

A dear reader, Anna, came back and said, I think the online Visa codes are a better value for those points as far as choosing from their rewards. And you can also use these on Amazon or anywhere else online. Amazon $10 card = 1580 points, Visa online $10 card = 1500 points. The Visa gift cards are cheaper and more versatile.

All points are not made the same.

I typically would not get an Amazon gift card but I will get a Walmart or Target gift card which 1,580 or a PayPal egift card they don’t even offer a $10 PayPal egift card but when I have more points in my account.

I know that a few months ago, I had a view readers say that they were unable to use their Visa egift card at Walmart.  I’ve used my Visa to pay on my monthly internet bill, my cellphone and I have used the Visa of purchased an Amazon gift card by sending the code to yourself.

I’ve got more points in my account, this morning, because I did Armor All Total Vehicle Detailer Money Maker!!! I will probably let my points sit in my account as I am only 750 points away from a $25 Visa egift card or 500 points from a $25 Sephora gift card! 🙂

Thanks, Anna!

I would not recommend you redeem the visa gift cards on the 3rd party website they give you when mypoints issues them. I had over $150 stolen from my account and there is nothing you can do if you get hacked. I would redeem as you are going to use them.

Leticia, O.M.G., someone was able to use your Visa gift cards? WOW!!! I am so sorry that it happened to you. Yes, must roll the gift cards once you request them.
