I was just thinking something and want to throw it out there for others to consider.

I have shopped far more at CVS in my life than Walgreens. Combining their stackable digital coupons and offers with an occasional hard coupon has simply produced more savings opportunities.

BUT… (and this is huge)… if and when something goes wrong I have been treated far better at Walgreens. The CVS return policy is so shockingly bad and disadvantageous to the consumer that Walgreens beats them hands down. Managers can immediately print register rewards or issue points when appropriate. I also like Walgreens offering the two ways to earn rewards (points and register rewards) instead of one. If the RR $$ were stored digitally instead of in printed coupon form it would be even better.

CVS has a slight advantage in terms of clearance items. I see more of them there, and the 75% off items are great deals.

Nick, the CVS has gone downhill since they’ve implemented the prorated receipt system which doesn’t make sense bc and what they are really doing is actively encouraging us to NOT make any returns regardless of the circumstances, i.e., a product sold past it’s expiration date. Another thing that bugs me about CVS is that they have TOO MANY cosmetics deals every single week. They bought a whole hospital system in AETNA so how about more health related deals. Okay, let me step off of my soapbox.
