So, on July 4th, my blog went down hard and part of the problem is that, you the reader don’t see most of my blog but the content of my blog is huge since I’ve been writing about saving money since 2009.
The majority of my blog is archived but nothing is truly archived because the information is easily retrievable at a moment’s notice and therein lies the problem.
I literally have multiple copies of the same and different information stored on servers. You all see the end product of a blog post, however, there is the picture that goes with that blog post and the pictures or any digital media are separate files and the servers are trying to achieve this stuff and there are different file sizes and so it’s constantly trying adjust as I continually post information.
I won’t be posting anymore YouTube video because it slows my website down and I can just post a picture and a link.
Even adding links into my posts is another separate feature that has must be maintained.
On Saturday, I’d literally lost everything but my web host was able to retrieve most of my data (work) up through July 1st.
My web host and I have been talking about my buying more server space which means my monthly bill would go up exponentially or deleting some of my old content in order to free up space and stop my website from crashing.
Obviously, they can easily write a script to remove everything prior to let’s say 2017 as I had about 31,000 posts prior to yesterday when I deleted about 1,500 posts. It’s eye opening to see that I write about 120 – 131 Coupon Insert posts each year…it’s was mind boggling to me.
I am going to be quite busy going through my old content and deleting it, over the next few weeks.
