CVS $5 Challenge

The challenge is to spend no more than $5 out of pocket at CVS using coupons and EBs (Extra Bucks). Make sure that you have a CVS loyalty card and scan your CVS card at a CVS scanner prior to taking your goodies to the cash register b/c you may save more money! Also, hopefully, you have bought a couple of the Sunday newspaper to get you going. See my previous post for a full preview of the CVS deals.

Buy (1)Hershey’s king size 2.2-3.4oz or Twizzlers 5oz $1.88

Get Back $1 Extra Bucks

Scenario #3

Buy 2 Irish Spring body wash $7.98
Use -$1 Extra Bucks (from scenario #2)
and Use (2) -$1 off Irish Spring Body Wash coupon
or $1 off Irish Spring body wash, excl 2.5 oz, SS 04/08

Get Back $4 Extra Bucks

    Doesn’t this spend more than $5 out of pocket? 1.88 for the candy leaves 3.12 cash. That plus the extra buck gives me 4.12 to spend, but the two Irish Springs will cost me more. (7.98-1.00 extra buck = 6.98 – $2 in coupons = 4.98). Am I missing something here? Please advise. Thanks.
