When I started my first day work, thirty years ago, I was 25 years old, I wore sky-heels and a skin-tight dress and I was a brand new mother and a newlywed. I was excited about my future and all I could see was the great possibilities. I think I have always been a glass half full type of girl because even when the bad did happen, I always knew that some better was coming my way.
Even when my retirement date was pushed to mid-August, I was disappointed but I didn’t loose my mind. It gives me an opportunity to work a little longer with my replacement and give him the supports that he needs because he is filling my large shoes at work.
I wanted to get a nice but casual outfit for my retirement luncheon which is next week I plan to wear a blouse and slacks. I looked at allot of tops online but I finally decided on this INC top at Macys and I already have light tan slacks. However, good lord, I did not want to pay $89.50 for the top because when I initially saw the top, it was not on sale. During the week of July 4th, the top went on sale for $66 and some change and I actually did go to Macys but the escalators were broke and it was already hot and muggy inside the store and just could not walk up the three floors required to get the top.
So, this past weekend, I checked again on the blouse and the blouse is 50% off!!!!!!!! What is even more exciting is when I checked my PayPal balance, I had $263. Yes, I know I should not have all that money in my PayPal account but as I’ve said previously, I have been super busy and I know had a chance to move the money to my bank account.
Anyways, I have my retirement luncheon outfit ready to go for next week and I did have to pay out of pocket for my outfit!!!
