How do I Count the Coupons…

Yesterday, I saved $40.95 and I made a profit of $9 in +Up Rewards.

I had a busy day, yesterday.  As my momma would say, I spent the day “ripping and running”.  Heck, it was a busy week, for that matter.  I hit the main 3 drugstores – Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid – plus, I hit Vons and Albertsons, this week, too.

I decided to add up the retail value of all the items I got and subtract the savings to see how I did.  I did GREAT and it just reinforces to me that it really does pay using coupons!

I got $42.48 in retail value for only $4.80 out of pocket.  After SCRs and +Ups Rewards, I made a profit of $12.27.

Here’s what I bought at retail value:

1 Caffeine Free Diet Coke 20oz $1.59 + .05 CRV (discount $1.27)
4 Motrin PM $21.96 (discount $16)
1 Zegerid 14ct $11.99 (discount $9.59)
1 Folger $6.89 (minus $5 catalina used)

After 20% discounts (Rite Aid), catalina (Albertsons) and coupons, I paid altogether, exluding tax, just $4.80 out of pocket.

I earned $3.27 in SCRs plus $9 in +Ups Rewards making a profit of $12.27 for the day.

You can’t do that at the Dollar Store!

Unfortunately, you can not buy 2 Motrins and get 2 +Up Rewards.

I tried it and it was a no go…just got 1 +Up for Motrin.

I'll update my post to reflect that fact..
