How Do MyPoints Works

MyPoints is a rewards program in which you earn points for shopping, taking surveys, reading emails and doing web searches.  Once you have accumulated adequate points, you can redeem your points for  gift cards like Walmart, Sephora, PayPal, Visa.  MyPoints  offers gift cards denominations from $3 to $500.

With MyPoints ,I  have to be honest and say that I only participate with the shopping and they emails that they send me every once in awhile.  I want to say that they emailed me last week, I clicked on their link and I received 350 points.

A couple a weeks ago, I did post that MyPoints: 100 Points = $0.60.

My favorite gift cards are the PayPal, Visa and Walmart but MyPoints offer a variety of gift cards and the give you a choice between a eGift card or a physical gift card.  However, to cash out with PayPal or the Visa gift card, you must accumulate at least $25 in points.

MyPoints is very similar to Walgreens in that you accumulate points but instead of shopping at a physical store to spend your points, you get gift cards to spend your points!

Thank you for this post. I truly appreciate it. One question- do points have the same value regardless of cash out method? For example, does it cost more points to cash out with PayPal versus choosing a gift card? Thanks again!! You are always helping me save money!

Amber, with PayPal and the Visa gift card, you must accumulate at least $25 in points and it’s the same with SwagBucks. I’ll update that info in my post. 🙂

I’m not certain, but I don’t believe that’s what she meant.i am also curious. Is the cash out value the same regardless of what you choose? Example, if 25000 points is worth $25, is that 25000 points still worth $25 in PayPal? And worth $25 in Amazon gc, or starbuck gc, etc. some sites will give you a lower value for a more popular payout.
      thanks.

Irwin, gotcha. The Visa and PayPal $25 threshold is slightly higher by 450 points. For example, a $25 Bath & Body Works gift card requires 3,520 pts, whereas, the PayPal/Visa requires 3,970 pts.
