I am always looking for ways to save money. I save money through the traditional ways – IRA, 401K, automatic savings, etc. and of course, I save money by clipping coupons and drugstore deals.
But there’s another way in which I save money that I rarely mention – I save my coin change!
Towards the end of each year, I gather all the change that I have accumulated in my “change basket” and I take it to my local CVS where they have a Coinstar machine and I cash in all that coin and I usually turn the change into a CVS gift card.
Last week, when I turn in my change I had over $121 to put on a CVS gift card. I consider the money “found’ money and it’s a little way on how save money throughout the year.
They also have Coinstar machine in most groceries stores, too, at least in San Diego so you could get a gift card to a grocery store or Amazon, Sears, Gap, iTunes, etc.
Start saving your coin change and turning them into gift cards!
