I Over Did my Walk Yesterday

I have been inviting my son to go walking with me for like a year and finally yesterday, we finally went together to Bay Park.  We were talking, laughing and walking and before I knew it, we’d walk 7.46 miles.

I am telling you that at mile, six my feet began to hurt and by the time that I got to my car, my upper thigh was sore. OMG, by the time, I got home, I completely wiped out and done!

This morning, I am still kind of hobbling around and interestingly, my back near my shoulder blades is sore.  I think my upper back/shoulders is sore because I was swinging them arms as I was taking each step to keep me moving.

We are not built like our ancestors to walk long distances without training our bodies so don’t do like I did and walk almost 8 miles without doing the proper training.

    With sudden extereme exertion, you are risk for a condition called Rhabdomyolusis. For next few days try to hydrate with 2-3 liters of fluid per day, take tylenol/acetamenophen for pain control (not advil/aleve). Hope you feel better soon.
