Ibotta Has Locked My Readers Accounts

Today, a couple three of my readers let me know that they tried cash out of their Ibotta account only find out that their accounts have been locked.  This is a terrible way to do business.  It appears that it is only when the person has met the requirement of accumulating $20 or more in their Ibotta account, it’s when one finds out that there is a problem.

Why is Ibotta waiting until the person hits the $20 threshold or more and tries to withdraw the money is when the accountholder is informed that there is a problem with their account?  They can make up any story and state that the person violated some fine print rule and keep the monies.

I don’t have enough money in my Ibotta account to request a PayPal payout but I highly suggest that you stop redeeming the rebates until Ibotta stops locking our accounts.  Ibotta cannot continue to be successful without us redeeming rebates.

Rumor is that supposedly, Ibotta is going through some kind of audit and they are randomly locking accounts.  Can you imagine a bank going through an audit and them locking your account so you couldn’t access your money?  It would not go over well especially here in California.

    Thank you for keep posting this issue and warning. So I redeemed money to PayPal last week from my ibotta account. Luckily, my account is not locked and the $63 is showed up in my Paypal. I think I should stop shopping just because of ibotta offer for a while. Thanks again.

    I was able to get my money out today by getting a Target gift card. Thanks for the heads up.

        My account was locked yesterday. I contacted Ibotta twice and did not even receive an acknowledgement that my situation is being reviewed. That’s simply unprofessional and a glaring example of poor customer service.

        Anyone can make a mistake. And sometimes it can take awhile to make a correction. As long as Ibotta continues to ignore a widespread persistent issue they will lose purchases each and every day. Those of you with $20 or more in your account have been warned thanks to the honesty of this website. You are now using Ibotta at your own risk.
