I remember when Walgreens used to sell the Ground Beef 1 lb. for $1.99 but on Wednesday, when I was working on the Best Walgreens Deals 1/16 – 1/22 post, the ad showed the Ground Beef 1 lb. for $3.49 and some how seeing the price, triggered me to go look up when did this particular price increase happened.

The ground beef $3.49 began with the 11/14 ad, the $3.29 was the 10/10 ad and the $2.99 price was last in the Walgreens on 9/9 ad.

These changes also corresponds with the last real Walgreens weekly ad before they went into this weird personalized ad Walgreens Deals 10/17 – 10/23 (2021).

The reason that I always included the ground beef in my Walgreens posts is because I know that there are people out there who read my blog posts and they are very careful how they spend their money.

You try to go into Vons, Albertsons, Ralphs, Food 4 Less, Smart & Final and get ground beef for $3.49/lb. let alone $2.99/lb…you cannot do it. Even at the 80/20 lean/fat ratio, you cannot it.  There isn’t much difference in price between the ground turkey and ground beef.

I suspect that we will see another price increase on the ground beef roll at Walgreens in the very near future.

We all must tighten up our budget belt because the inflation is eating up our discretionary spending budget.

We have throttled back on our spending a lot and I am only doing deals on something that we need or makes money. I’ve even stopped doing deals for my son unless he agrees to pay my out of pocket.

Just remember that we are all one paycheck from being homeless and don’t think that just because you have a good job today that doesn’t mean you can’t be let go tomorrow.

The only bills that we have is housing and utilities, the cars are paid off (and yes, that includes my brand new 2022 car).

Keep saving your money. If you bought some items during the holidays that you know that you are not going to use and you still have the receipt…RETURN IT to the store.  Stop letting your pride stop you from returning things you don’t need because inflation doesn’t care about your pride.

We can help fight inflation by making wise purchases. Whole Foods offers a product called Neutral Milk which is on sale for $4.49 and has a $3 Ibotta offer. Buy one. THAT’S how you fight inflation if you drink milk or have kids running around who go through a half gallon faster than you can blink. Grab these opportunities if they apply or appeal to you. $1.49 right now today for a half gallon of milk fights inflation!
