Money Matters

August is here and it’s time for the Back to School deals and the fall decor sales. 🙂  For all those that print coupons from my blog and use my referral links…thank you for doing so because it keeps me from having my blog pages littered with advertisements.

There are some deals that I will read about and I will test the deal prior to posting the deal on my blog.  I don’t have a problem returning items if the deal does not work out.  This was the case about three weeks ago with the Crest Whitening strips, the supposed deal was buy 3, B2G1 FREE and a $15 and (2) $10 would come off on your receipt plus get a $4 RR and get back like 20,000 Balance Rewards points.  I also bought sodas and chips or some kind of snacks.  HOWEVER, my out of pocket was $54 even with the digital coupons that came off on my receipt and change and I got back the $4 RR and minimal points. 🙁  Yeah…you never saw that post.

Last week, I returned the Crest Whitening strips and they were originally like $39 or $44 each and on B2G1 FREE but remember I paid like $54 and some change and to my amazement, the cashier gave me back $67 and change for the return.  I didn’t use any points just digital coupons and cash.  The manager does have approve any returns over $50.  They also took back 670 points that I had earned from the transaction.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the Armor All deal was offered three times in July which means that if you did it all three time, it was a $60 Money Maker!!!  I got very, very lucky and two of my stores kept restocking the Armor All Total Vehicle Detailer which I gave away to friends.  The Coffee Mate Bliss was another incredible deal and anytime that these huge money makers reset, I will do them over and over and over again.

Honestly, this summer, they have been giving away the Nabisco cookies and crackers . I bought 2 Belvita biscuits for $1.49 each and submitted my receipt to (2) $1 CO51 and $1 S* free making them both free.  I will give the goodies to the homeless.

I received a check for $5.20 for the Seagram’s Canada Dry lawsuit settlement.  I received $42.99 from CO51 and $178.67 from Ibotta. From SwagBucks, I received $10 Walmart gift card, $75 PayPal, $60 Visa gc.  From MyPoints, I received $20 Walmart gift card, $50 PayPal and $3 Amazon gc.

I am also loving that I can get the BIC pens for FREE with only a digital coupon.
