My Trip to Rite Aid…

This morning, I decided to do a huge Rite Aid run b/c I know that this week I’m gonna be busy and I ain’t gonna have time to be running back and forth to Rite Aid.  Also, I got to Rite Aid early b/c there would be less people there and I don’t have worry about people that are trying to buy their beer having to wait for all my coupons to be scanned! LOL

It took me forever to get my coupons together b/c there were so many to cut out!  I definitely would not recommend doing a huge order like this if “your money is funny and your change is strange”…meaning that you are short on cash.  I had a higher OOP then I normally do but I was expecting that.

The first thing I went looking for when I walked in the door was the Secret Clinical .5oz…and they were out of stock.  Crap.  But it’s all good b/c I do use this product so I bought the full size one.  It took me forever to find the 20ct Duracell batteries and they have the batteries all over the store on look hangies and over near Photo…but I finally found them.  Also, I check the UPC number on the $22.99 Crest Whitestrips and it did not match the $10 Crest coupon…so I bought the $29.99 Crest Whitestrips.

Anyways, here my gets at Rite Aid:

Bought 1 Duracell Batteries AA 20+5 $10
Bought 1 Gillette Venus 3ct $5.99
Bought 1 Crest 3-D White Whitestrips 28ct $29.99
Bought 2 Dixies Paper Plates $5
Bought 1 Veet Hair Removal Gel Cream $5.19 (reg. price $6.49)
Bought 1 Secret Clincal 1.6oz $7.99
Bought 1 Secret Powder Fresh $1.99
Bought 2 John Frieda Roots Awkening $10
Bought 1 Tena Ultra Thin Pads $10.39 (reg. price $12.99)
Bought 1 Crest Pro-Health Toothpaste $2.99

Total = $89.53

SCRs Earned = $6.99 ($2.99 Crest, $2 Venus, $2 Secret Clinical)

+Ups Earned = $17 ($2 Duracell, $12 Crest Strips, $2 Venus, $1 Secret)

MIR Earned = $10.39 Tena MIR (found in SS 6/6)

Cost = $2.90

Notes:  This would have been a money maker for me if I’d found the Secret Clinical .5oz size and UPC code on Crest Strips matched the $10 Crest Q and the JF would have spit out a $10 +Up Rewards.  I saved over 81% on this transaction.  To be truthful, I will probably return the John Frieda since it did not cough up a $10 +Up Rewards…and then I’ll have a profit of $7.10.  So, it appears that you cannot do JF in separate transactions and get the +Up Rewards.

There is a Veet $3 MFQ printable but I was unable to print it out…may you can?  Also, some are finding a $3 Tena MFQ on the product…but not at the store I went to.

    Can you tell me the UPC code of the Crest 3-D White Whitestrips 28ct $29.99 … I have a $10 off Crest 3D Professionals, and maybe the UPC code matches my coupon too?

  • MsBuildingUpDaBenjamins June 28, 2010, 04:06

    DMC, the UPC code is 0 37000 26485 9.

    However, I saw on Coupons, Deals and More that she was able to use today's $10 Crest in the RP, on the $22.99 Crest Whitening Strips w/o any problems.

    I just hate beeping coupons so thats why I check the UPC code of the product against the coupon.

    Good luck!

    Mine also beeped.. the product shelf might be old and they updated the UPC since its my only explanation because the coupon its for any crest 3D so my cashier just pushed it through πŸ™‚

    Maria, I figured that coupon would beep b/c the coupon UPC code didn't match the Crest UPC code.

    The coupons seem to have two different UPC codes on them… how do I know which to match to the product?

  • MsBuildingUpDaBenjamins June 30, 2010, 23:38

    DMC, in the case of UPC# code on the is 0 37000 26485 9, I would match up 264 to see if this was the right coupon for the right product.

    Although, as Maria pointed out in her comment, if the mfg changes the product in some way, they will also change the UPC code and that is how she knew that probably had a older product.
