OMG, I finally got to Rite Aid and I got what I could find and went up to the register.  I gave all my coupons and +Ups and the cashier stops b/c he says he has a strange message on his register and he calls the manager.

Well, my favorite manager comes up and looks at the message and asks me “How much in +Ups were you expecting?”  I say $23 in +Ups.

She then says “lets go over to the other register” where she proceeds to give me a Gift Cards for $23 and says “gift cards are better than +Ups.

I ask “what happened?”  She says that the registers are no longer giving people +Ups.

I ran home and check the Blogosphere and the problem is that Rite Aid rolled out the Load2Card nationwide TODAY and in some stores, the registers are automatically loading your +Up Rewards onto your Wellness Card!

You will need to opt-out of this feature and I Heart Rite Aid explains very well how to do this.  You will need to print out the instructions and give it to the cashier, if you run into this problem.  I went to two stores and it was the second store in which I had the problem.

There is definitely drama brewing at Rite Aid and we are going to be in for a bumpy ride!

OK then… if they do this and I am not able to opt out… that’s totally it for me and I am done shopping there. I like to use my UPS in the order that I choose, and know physically in hand exactly what I have, which is extremely hard to do when it’s loaded on your card. I can’t even keep track of any of the coupons I load to my card. I really will be done with this store. It’s just not worth it to me. I stopped shopping at Walgreens when they made using Register Rewards so difficult and then never had any sales items in stock and never offered Rain Checks for those items that gace RRs. Some things are just not worth my time anymore.

Can we call customer service pver the phone and ask them to opt us out? I don’t think my store will even understand the instructions on Heart’s site. They can barely do corrections, rain checks, and returns. 😛

If you opt-out, can you still use the load2card coupons?

The folks that have been in the test cities for the +Up Load2Card have had some success at using the eCoupons. Believe it or not, allot of stores have not been programmed for the eCoupons.

I’m not in a test area but I have been able to use the l2c coupons. I am nerve that opting out will make it impossible to use the l2c qs.

I don’t think that you being opting out of the coupons if you opt out of having your +Up loaded to your card.

I just called Rite Aid Customer Services and they opted me out over the phone, but said to give it a few days…. so no shopping there until maybe Thursday to be sure. 🙁

BTW – It’s amazing how this store didn’t seem to know what was going on and gave you a gift card for the UPS. RA Corporate never tells the stores ANYTHING.

And I am still waiting for the freaking 16 oz Pistachios that none of the stores in MD or DC have had for the past month. Rain checls are pretty useless when the monthly UPS reward for them ends.

I am shocked at how many stores have not clue about the L2Cs. How is that they still haven’t stocked the Pistachios! 🙁
