One of the most common complaints about couponing is that you can only get processed junk food for free or cheap but not fresh meats, fruits and vegetables. If you are serious about saving money, you should have multiple grocery store loyalty cards for when there are extraordinary deals. You just tell the cashier that you are tired of your husband, wife, son, daughter, sister or cousin using your rewards and they will give you another card without blinking.
I only buy food items that we will eat. The people complaining about processed junk food still have processed junk foods in their home but they pay full price. Plant-based taco crumbles is still a processed food, who knows if it’s a healthier choice than ground beef, chicken or turkey.
Anyways, I bought 3 Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal and it’s looks two manufacturer coupons applied, as well as, the two $1 off cereal coupons. The General Mills cereal is on sale for $1.49 when you buy 3.
The prepared bell peppers and onions is only $0.99 after coupons.
The Open Nature ground turkey (93% lean) is on sale for $4.99 and we have a $2 off O Organic or Open Nature Meat Item and as you see, the $3 off $10 Meat coupon still came off on my receipt as my purchase still met the $10 threshold.
We will be having frozen pepperoni pizza on Friday. I was fully expecting to pay $2.50 after the two $1 off frozen coupon came off but some how I ended up paying $1.98 but I think I had a 10% off appetizers personalized deal that also kicked in.
