My Trip to Vons

A reader, Sabrina, was kind enough to let me know of a Vons store in San Diego that had most of the Monopoly Free Items from the blue tickets.  I had like 20 tickets but I had multiples of the FREE Donuts and the FREE Refresh Sparkling Ice drink 17 oz.  Plus, I wanted to use the $1 off coupons to see if they’d work with all the freebies and they did!!!

This store was out of my way, 20 minutes north of me but it was mostly freeway and super simple directions to the store.  I saw a CVS in the same parking lot and I want to say that there are a couple of Rite Aid stores nearby but I didn’t see a Walgreens but I may have missed it.  Lots of traffic over there for late morning/lunchtime.

If you are in San Diego and want to know what area I was in then leave a comment.

It took me forever to walk this store because all of the Vons stores set up their stores differently and I wish the Vons app would was like Ralphs and told you what aisle things are located.  However, I must say that Ralphs store setups are more alike then dissimilar.

I loved the store that I visited on Thursday because the aisles are nice and wide and their shelves have product on them.  The Vons on 30th Street in North Park has a couple of bare aisles, they haven’t had paper goods, cleaning products, rice in about six weeks.  This store had several hand sanitizers, I grabbed 2 since the limit was 2.

Now, back to the Refresh Sparkling Ice drink and those donuts both Vons in my neighborhood made them free since the coupons wouldn’t come off, however, at the new Vons they rang up $1 each and thank goodness I only grabbed 2.  The double packed donuts in my neighborhood stores are priced at $0.99 each but the new store they rang up at $1.79 so I ended up paying $0.79 each for donuts. Ugghhhhhh.

When I left North Park, it was 73 degrees and by the time I left the other store, it was 88 degrees.  As I was driving back home, I could see the temperature dropping each mile I drove.  It was hot as Hell in that store and with my mask on, it was even hotter.

Of course, watermelon is the perfect snack for a hot. The bottom of the container says it 1 pound 8 oz it’s priced at $4.99. The $2 off Fruit Bowl coupon came off, as well as, the $1 off coupons and the $1 off Monopoly came off, too.

I had lots and lots of freebie on this trip – Lucern sour cream, Frigo cheese sticks, Open Nature yogurt, Signature Select white vinegar, (2) Signature Select corn, (2) O Organic canned tomatoes, Signature bread crumbs, Signature gummy bears, Weber seasoning jar, Signature aluminum foil, French bread loaf, Signature trail mix.

I still have freebie blue tickets to spend so all in all, I’m very happy with my Vons trip!

Thanks, Sabrina!

OMG, you drive from CV….wow!!!!!!!! The cashier told me NO MORE TICKETS.🤣 It was soooooo freakin hot in that store with no AC, I thought I was going to fall out. The Albertsons in Lemon Grove on Broadway, it’s off the 94 East to I think its College Ave, THEY are a very coupon friendly store. The Lemon Grove Rite Aid is also VERY coupon friends. However, the Walgreens isn’t friendly and the CVS is a bit iffy about being friendly. There’s also a Walmart, Ralphs, Vons, Food 4 Less in that area off College Ave. The Albertsons, I’ve seen them actually shut down a register so a girl can use a boatload of coupons without any fuss. Thanks again, Sabrina!
