I was in the Mypoints on my computer and I was going to submit a receipt for a rebate, however, I was asked for Phone Verification.  I’m thinking that they will soon be asking for us to fax them a copy of our driving license and social security card.

    Did it even work for you? I tried repeatedly a couple weeks ago. It ended up texting me 5 codes but never giving me a way to enter them. I had to contact support and they fixed my account to not require it for now.

      Jennifer, yes, I did get a code and entered it but it took about 15 minutes to get the code. I entered the code using my laptop.

      I am kidding about the DL and SSN card but honestly why would they need to phone verify for us to submit a store receipt?

      They do actually demand your DL now if there’s a problem with the surveys. Awhile ago I wasn’t paying attention while taking one of their neverending dull surveys and must’ve picked an incorrect birth year or some nonsense. They immediately automatically disabled my whole MP account, with thousands of already earned points in it, and demanded that I email them my DL to prove my real identity or somesuch to get my account back.

    I wonder what is the real reason behind all those additional steps. Is it for account security, really? Is it to limit the options for double dipping? Is it because they are trying to find ways to not actually give back points, rebates, etc? Kroger, Walmart and don’t know which other stores are not accepting returns currently so even if something goes wrong with a deal, you are stuck.
