This week has kept us all watching the winter storm unfold in Texas. My mom was born and raised in Texas and so we have a lot relatives all over the state. I spoke with my uncle, my mom’s youngest brother, on Tuesday and he was saying how cold it was and I recalled that I don’t remember him having a fireplace in his home so I asked him did he have one and he said, “No, we don’t have a fireplace because it’s not normally this cold in Texas.”
Now, my dad was born and raised in Florida but some how he knew in Sacramento when it got into the low 30’s to wrap the pipes and let the water drip from the outside so the pipes wouldn’t bust. We always had candles and a working fireplace for when the electricity would go off during the wintertime.
We should always be prepared for an emergency. We should have foods in our cabinets that don’t need to be cooked and bottled water. We should have plenty of blankets, candles, flashlights, batteries, cellphone portable charger banks, etc. If you aren’t prepared then start a list and start buying a little at a time with each paycheck.
If you didn’t stop by CVS, this week, then go to your CVS account and print or send to card your CVS coupons. Also, check your CVS account for the FREE Lip Balm up to $5 (YMMV).
It’s Saturday…enjoy your day!
