Last Saturday, I decided to stop by CVS to pick up a couple of things and I walked by the Sally Hansen Salon Insta Gel Strips. I was kinda curious as to how did this nail product worked and I decided to pick up a box and try it out.
The Sally Hansen Salon Insta Gel Strips includes 16 Gel Polish Strips, Gel Top Coat, 2 Nail Cleanser Pads, Cuticle Stick and a Nail File. I already had a LED lamp that I had bought from eBay on the cheap.
I opened the box and quickly started reading the directions. The directions appeared easily enough to read but I could not figure how to apply the strips correctly. So of course, I went on to youtube to see “how to” do it and I was able to apply the strips.
The first few fingers it took me forever to manipulate or conform the strip to my nails. You have get the strips just right so it does not look tacky on your nail. The strips are kinda delicate so you kinda have to be careful or it will rip. In fact, I flubbed up my thumb and I had to totally re-do my thumb. Thankfully, I have small hands (I wear a size 5 1/2 on my ring finger) so I was able to use another size strip on my left thumb.
But as I got going peeling off the plastic off of the nail strip, I became faster at applying. After I was done apply strips to all 10 fingers nails, I applied the Top Coat and then I stuck my fingers under the LED lamp for 30 seconds. I used the cleansing pad to wipe off the residue and I was done.
I must say that the strips looked pretty darn good on my nails! But the strips began popping off within 6 hours of me putting them on!
I am going to assume that I missed a step along the way of applying the strips? Since I am using my “play money” (store rewards) purchase the nail strips, I am going to try it again and get another box of the Insta Gel Nail Strips.
So far, Sally Hansen Insta Gel Nail Strips – FAIL.
