Rite Aid: Load2Card + Manfacturer Coupons

Rite Aid logoIt is being reported that if you have a Load2Card (L2C) loaded to your Wellness card and you use a manufacturer coupon on the same item, the system kicks out the Load2Card coupon.

For example, if you are buying Purex Laundry Detergent and you have a $1 Purex L2C and a $1 Purex manufacturer coupon, the registers are kicking out the $1 L2C.  It looks like Rite Aid has fixed out little Money Makers.

There is a caveat.  If your stores are unable to scan paper coupons and they have to manually enter the paper coupons, the registers do not recognize that a coupon has been entered and the L2C goes through.

The system should taker the higher value coupon… I don’t always remember what I have loaded.

I think this depends on your scanner. Yesterday I purchased the dove mens bodywash and the People magazine in 2 different transactions. In both transactions the items had both a L2C q and a MQ (that I handed over) and both transactions were successful with the l2c and the mq coming off. Both transactions were done using the old style gun scanner.
P.S. I realize I overused the word “both” but I wanted to be as clear as possible. 😛

L2C is very good for my local rite aid, it’s rare for my coupons to scan there. If it doesn’t scan then the cashier won’t put it through or make an excuse that its expired or its the wrong item.

Lately, all my coupons at Rite Aid has been scanning. I think the stores must have gotten some kind of system upgrade recently.
