I went through 3 iterations of leaves before I settled on the leaf pattern by @handmadebyraine which I found on YouTube. This tree is inspired by @naomirag 's blossom tree. I knew I wanted to do a tree of my own, when I saw her creation and initially was going to do all green leaves but we don't really have a fall season in the desert so a few weeks ago I scrapped all the leaves I made and settled on this maple leaf pattern. I love the way it turned out. Thanks again to @handmadebyraine and @naomirag for the inspiration. Thank you to the @cityofdhs Community and Cultural Afffairs Commission for sponsoring this art install. A big thank you to Riverside County Flood Control District for letting me use their fence! If you're interested in seeing this in person the tree is located on Mission Lakes Blvd (south side) between Palm Dr. and Santa Cruz. #yarnbombing #yarnbomb #streetart #crochet
If you do any type of crocheting or appreciate art, a reader, Stephanie, has been creating beautiful art pieces like this colorful tree in her local community.
