Holy Holiday Mess, Batman! (LOL)

1This past Monday, I gathered up all the Christmas gifts for my family and I boxed them up.  I had eight different boxes to send to Sacramento.  I am really astounded how much stuff I accumulated for family members over the past year.

Anyways, I went over to the UPS Store, paid the shipping bill and the Christmas gifts were to arrive on Wednesday (12/19).  I sent them all to my brother, David’s house since everyone goes to his house.

Last night, around 8:30pm, my cell phone rings and from the area code 916, I knew the call was from Sacramento but I didn’t recognize the phone number.

My mind is racing b/c I think someone is in the hospital or there is a family emergency.  I click the button to hear the voice.

“Hello?  Do you know Marcus?”  I answered, “Yes, he is my nephew.”  She goes on to explain that UPS delivered ONE box at her home when she was not home.  She had called USP but they had her hold for so long that she decided to just call me.

I got on the phone with my brother and I gave her the lady’s address to go pick up the packages.  Mind you that it’s almost 9 at night.

My brother calls me back to let me know that he gotten the ONE box from the lady at the “Farm House” and they thanked her.

I go on the UPS website to check the status of delivery on the other 7 boxes and they are scheduled to be delivered today (12/20).  However, the UPS website has suspended any guaranteed deliveries…ugghhhhh!

Oh well, it is, what it is.  I am sure my gifts will arrive sometime before Christmas Day! (LOL)

I never used UPS anymore if I have a choice. I never send any packages through them, even if I have to pay a bit more, and I try to never receive packages through them if I can select a shipper. UPS once misdelivered to me a huge stereo set package – HUGE-, when I was expecting a small shower curtain package. When I called to have them fix the problem, they had the nerve to give me grief on the phone and transferred me about six times… yup that’s what I got for trying to do the right thing! Most of the time, my packages look like they were sat on by an elephant and chewed up by a grizzly bear! The ultimate last straw for me though, was when UPS >>> STOLE<<< from me. UPS stole a package worth $7K from me (they could tell from the return label what was inside – APMEX). It was insured, so I was not out the money of course, but the fact that they would hire and keep employed theives like that told me all I needed to know.

Thankfully, they were all delivered. Honestly, it was the first time that I have used UPS to ship but they had just opened an UPS Store near my home so I decided to use them. I won’t be doing that anymore.

I honestly have never had any good experiences with UPS. Not one.
