Today’s trip to CVS: Transaction #1…

Oh boy, I was walking on Cloud Nine, when I walked out of CVS this morning! The reason being is b/c I had under $2 out of pocket for all the stuff you see in the picture. My trip had not started off on the right foot b/c I drove to CVS and as I was getting out of my car to go into CVS…I realized that I had forgotten to put my EBs into my purse. So, I drove back home got the EBs and then drove back to CVS. Mind you that it is 7:30 in the morning. San Diego is a big city so if there is a hot deal at a store it will be gone if you don’t get there early. I had scouted out CVS on Friday so I’d know exactly where the Febreze was in the store and at that time, shelves were kinda empty where the Febreze sat. I was hoping that CVS would re-stock on Saturday and I would have plenty of variety. It wasn’t the case, I found one little Febreze Fabric Refreshner and like 4 or 5 Febreze Noticeables and lots of Febreze Air Effects. I made it work, anyways!!!!

Here are my gets at CVS:

Bought 1 Febreze Air Effects $3
Bought 1 Febreze Fabric Refreshner $5
Bought 2 Febreze Noticeables $13
Bought 1 Head & Shoulders Shampoo $4.99
Bought 1 Head & Shoulders Conditioner $4.99
Bought 1 Colgate Total $2.99
Bought 3 CVS Transparent Tape $3.47

Total: $38.44

Used -$3.29 Free Febreze Air Effects when you buy any Febreze Fabric Refresher (7/31/09)

Used -$5.99 BOGO Head & Shoulders Q (Proctor & Gamble 7/5)
Used -$.75 Colgate Total (Smart Source 6/28)
Used -$12 EB
Used -$3 EB
Used -$5 EB

Total After Coupons & EBs = $1.52 incl tax EBs earned = $20.47

Grand Total OOP = $1.52

Total Value= $38.44 with $20.47 EBs remaining!!!!!!!!!

The cashier was kinda excited that I had so many coupons and EBs and I mean excited in a good way. She made sure that I had the right items and size to ensure that I got the most EBs. She didn’t question any of my coupons nor my EBs. When she scanned the BOGO Q for the Head & Shoulders, it came up at -$5.99 without the sales price and she didn’t override it. She did the same thing with the Febreze Air Effects wyb Febreze Fabric Refreshner Q and it scan as -$3.29, the non-sale price. I didn’t really figure it out until I got home and looked at receipt.

Also, I asked the cashier what the total was and then handed her the Extra Bucks first this reduces your tax b/c the computer treats the Extra Bucks as a store discount on the items and then I handed the cashier the coupons and this took me into a negative terriority of -$.09 cents and then the tax of $1.61 was applied against the -$.09 cents bringing my out of pocket to $1.52.

I got $38.44 worth of items for $1.52 and got back $20.47 in EBs. I am saving money and building up the Benjamins!!!!!!!!

Today, in two CVS transactions, I got $72.70 worth of merchandise for $8.38 out of pocket including tax!!!!!!
