Does anyone happen to know how to resolve an issue I’m having with the Vons $1 off (category) coupons, or what could be causing it? This is the 2nd time that 1 of the 4 coupons only took off 1x$1 instead of 2x$1. And this time it was a different one not doubling than the previous time.
2 weeks ago the register took off 2x$1 on 3 categories but only 1x$1 on produce. Today it took off 2x$1 on 3 categories but only 1x$1 on bakery, so I had to leave the bakery item I was buying. Each time I cancelled the transaction and tried again on a different register a few min later but it just happened again. It was on the same card both times. I have another card that I use to buy the same items, but I haven’t had the issue on that card.
The first time I thought maybe someone had somehow used the same phone number and managed to get one of my coupons on their purchase, so I changed the phone # on that account, *and* started only activating the coupons right before shopping. Today I only activated the coupons on this acct when I was already at the store, and I was careful to double check that all 4 had been added to my shop list, both in Las Vegas and in San Jose. If still happened.
I can’t figure out what it could be: someone else using my account somehow? Random glitch plaguing only this card?

Could you tell me which four $1 coupons you loaded and what you bought?

As I mentioned in a previous post, don’t try to buy something that fits both categories. For example, if you have the $1 off O Organics and $1 off produce, don’t buy the O Organics carrots. It might use the one coupon you don’t want it to use.

Every once in awhile, the 2x$1 do not work and I don’t know why.

Actually, I’ve found that double-dipping categories with these coupons doesn’t result in any problems as long as you’re buying enough stuff to absorb the overage. Both types of coupons will just come off the double-dip item at the same time.

It was the 4 coupons available this week, and the ones from two weeks ago. I don’t remember what they were. I bought a bottle of Bolthouse juice from produce 2 wks ago, and tried to buy small apple strudel pastries from the bakery today. None of those are double-dippers, and I’ve bought all these things previously on this account and my other card without any issues with the coupons, which is why it’s so bizarre.

I always buy the set of two bolillo rolls for $1, and they always come up free with the $1 coupon.

With produce, I always buy bananas, and it’s always fun to have my bill be just the overage on the bananas (from $0.02 to $0.05 so far).
