Vons/Albertsons: New Digital Coupons!!!

Vons and Albertsons store shoppers, there are new JUST4U digital coupons to load to your loyalty card for even more savings while you shop!  Save all the coins that you can.  The digital coupons shown above expire 11/24/20.

YMMV – If you are in California, use zip code 89119 for vons.com and use zip 94611 for safeway.com. You must switch back to your local Vons or Albertsons grocery store and change your zip back to your local area.

These $1 off coupons sometimes work – or don’t work – really strangely.
Last week I tried to buy the LIFE cereal that was on 1.88 sale price (choc flavor), and my $1 “off any cereal” just would not come off. I tried twice. The other 3 $1 off coupons worked as usual.
I didn’t have the energy to try to figure out what was going on or try other cereal that day so I left it till Tuesday. Mistake.
On Tuesday morning I went on a walk and stopped by to get the word of the day item, by itself. I noticed that the cashier never scanned the WotD coupon card, but the purchase somehow zeroed out anyway. On my receipt it showed as a 1.79 personalized coupon that came off the oatmeal cup, which had never happened before with a WotD item.

Tuesday evening I went to finish my shopping, checked the app, and realized the cereal coupon was gone from my account. Only then I realized what happened that morning: the “any cereal” coupon, which wouldn’t come off a *box of cereal*, bizarrely did come off an *oatmeal cup* of all things. Which meant I didn’t actually get that item as a free Word of the Day item, and that I now couldn’t get any free or cheap cereal either.
So be really careful about when you activate these coupons and what you buy while you still have them on your account.

The cereal coupon also works on cereal bars. I’ve used it on Quaker chewy bars, Nature Valley bars, and Kind bars.

You also need to be careful to not overlap certain coupons.

For example, if you have the $1 off O Organics and $1 off produce, don’t buy an O Organics item from the produce section. It won’t work correctly.

If you really want to do this, try to do separate transactions (buy something in produce first, then do the O Organics produce item in another transaction).

Oh Anna, I’m so sorry that the cereal coupon didn’t come off as expected. The $1 off coupons always override any and all free item coupon for that specific category. The chocolate Life cereal is a fairly new cereal and they may not have it coded yet to the $1 off Cereal coupons.

I’ve tried the single cereal bars but it doesn’t work on those, even on the expensive ones priced at $3.99. It works on on Zbar boxes and I thought in the past it worked on the Nature Made Fig Bars boxes but the last time I bought the cherry oatmeal flavor box and post factum noticed that it didn’t work on this particular flavor.

Tina, thank you letting us know!

Yep – Watch out for the wording on the coupons. I figured a $1.00 coupon off a ‘BOX’ of cereal would work on any cereal, no matter how it was packaged. Wrong! I purchased a ‘BAG’ of Bear Naked Granola (not cheap mind you, but luckily on sale) and the $1.00 off a ‘BOX’ of cereal did NOT come off. Couldn’t believe it.
